TRUE VELOCITY is Hiring an Equipment Operator Near Garland, TX

At True Velocity, the possibilities are limitless and so is the greatness of our team members. We are seekingcreative, open-minded, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team. We have two openings for anEquipment Operatorto support our 1st and 2nd shiftteam(s). The Equipment Operator will be an owner of the equipment and ensure proper set up, start up, shut-down procedures and safe operation. The operator will play a key role with improving safety, quality, productivity, and cost on existing manufacturing processes.

Essential Functions:

  • Engage in safe work behaviors and adhere to all organization’s safety standards and regulations
  • Responsible for equipment start-up, set-up, shut-down, malfunction detection, and inspection to resolve or escalate
  • Feeds product into the hopper or other feeding device(s) into designated equipment
  • Basic knowledge of the use of PLC’s
  • Responsible for the support of automation equipment in a manufacturing environment and support of existing automation systems.
  • Identify basic mechanical, electrical, and computer systems issues or alerts and reset appropriately
  • Ability to create and follow maintenance procedures.
  • Confer with supervisors, peers, or engineers to plan and review work activities and resolve production problems
  • Explain assembly procedures or techniques to other workers
  • Understand the usage of calipers, quality department tools, and adhere to production quality metrics and standards
  • Follow 5s housekeeping principles and ensure cleanliness of equipment in your responsibility regularly
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong manufacturing background with demonstrated mechanical aptitude and process troubleshooting skills required.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments
  • Self-starter who can execute projects and drive for results
  • Experience solving equipment problems with little to no supervision on schedule as an individual or as a member of an integrated team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge or understanding of PLCs
  • Undergraduate degree preferred

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or any combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ manufacturing experience
  • Ability to navigate computer screens, automated information as needed in the manufacturing environment

Physical Demands:

Standing and walking (up to continuously); bend/stoop, twist neck and torso (frequently); reach, hold, grasp, push, pull, lift/carry raw material, finished product, tools and machinery up to 50 pounds (frequently); use seeing, hearing, and speaking.

Working Environment:

Work indoors and outdoors.
