The Tru by Hilton Columbia Greystone is seeking a highly enthusiastic hotelier to join our team as a Part-Time Maintenance Engineer!This position offers a fun and exciting opportunity to work with a "Service First" company with future growth opportunities.

The Hotel has 117 guestrooms featuring essential business amenities including Hilton’s four-zone lobby with workspaces, in-room entertainment, a 24/7 market, and a modern fitness center. Summary:

This Part-Time position supports our Chief Engineer and Full Time Engineer 2 days per week on Saturday and Sunday.

Primary Responsibilities:

Support the overall operations of the Maintenance department with particular focus on assuring each element of the property is in perfect working order. Responsible for the repairs, maintenance, upkeep and replacement of the property's systems in accordance with hotel standards. Will also assist in other areas of Engineering as assigned by the Chief Engineer. Responsible for both guest and associate calls they respond immediately to any issues that arise. Strive to anticipate (preventative maintenance) problems.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Assist with repairs and maintenance as determined by the Chief Engineer, GM or as needed through work orders, checklists and preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure the availability of all guest rooms on a daily basis.
  • Maintain and repair all hotel equipment as directed.
  • Thrive in an energized environment embracing and contributing to the overall element hotels service culture.
  • Be proactive in monitoring the general condition of the building and surroundings at all times waking the property with a critical eye.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years’ experience in related field preferred.
  • Basic working knowledge of building maintenance, electrical, plumbing and refrigeration equipment preferred.
  • Ability to provide legible written communication. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • High school graduate or equivalent vocation training.

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds.
  • Employee is required to wear a Safety Support Belt when lifting any weight over 25 pounds.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other locations of the hotel on a timely basis..
