Troy 7, Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join our team in Huntsville AL. This position requires full-time on-site support within a government facility located on Redstone Arsenal. 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Technical Writer works with Engineers, Analysts, and SMEs to collect and organize information required for preparation of a broad range of technical reports, correspondence, and presentations.
• Edits and proofreads technical information for use in documents and briefings.
• Ensures technical reports, correspondence, and briefings use clear, concise, and well-organized language in accordance with DoD guidelines.
• Analyze documents to maintain continuity of message; explain scientific and technical ideas in simple language.
• Write technical direction on product announcements, marketing brochures, advertisements, and technical specifications; edit articles for industry publication; and format documentation to ensure consistency within the program office.
• On a daily basis the technical writer will assist in the development of briefings, papers, schedules, etc. to provide the government customer a detailed understanding of status, plans and technical approaches to various laser systems.
• The technical writer will interface directly with the government and contractor team engineers and management.

Requirements

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Extensive experience with Army correspondence (AR 25-50 Preparing and Managing Correspondence) and technical writing
• 10 years of related experience, preferably in the DoD or Defense industry
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Very strong / above average / attention to detail
• Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to develop final presentations, report graphics, and animations or video
• Experience with joint staff, joint programs, and interfacing with DoD leadership
• Experience supporting engineering programs and Technical Program Managers
