About the position:

We are looking for an Engineering Director to lead a fast growing engineering team, with the challenge of transforming our platform into one of a kind, world-class digital product to serve our ecosystem of clients and partners, to continue transforming the group travel industry.

Main responsibilities includes:

  • Oversee and develop engineering managers and their teams, looking for high-impact contributions to the product roadmap.
  • Define and evolve team structures and working dynamics according to the company's goals and objectives.
  • Ensure reliability and performance of all internal and external systems.
  • Build high-performance teams, and manage their career development and performance.
  • Clarify and communicate difficult concepts to internal and external business stakeholders as well as communicate business objectives to their team.
  • Ensure compliance with security and legal regulations.
  • Work in collaboration with Product and other departments to define and manage the Roadmap, its goals and timelines. Play an active role in their development and completion.
  • Design implementation strategies for current and future initiatives based on the company’s overall objectives and resources.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to Engineering Managers. Monitor training needs for them, to make a positive impact on their career development
  • Analyze market trends in order to incorporate new tools, technologies and best practices.
  • Review and update policies relevant to the engineering department.
  • Manage leaders that work in distributed teams, from different regions, with different time zones and cultures.
  • Reports directly to the CTO.

Products:

  • Marketplace web application connecting travelers, hosts, and international tour operators.
  • Digital assets supporting hosts to market and sell trips to prospective travelers online.
  • Mobile applications to connect travelers and hosts more closely to each other and to their destinations.

Qualifications: 

  • 7 years of experience directly managing engineers.
  • 5 years experience in a technical role (developer or architect) working on distributed systems or cloud services that require high availability.
  • Experience with managing global leaders and global teams, along with the ability to pivot and adjust as per dynamic business needs.
  • Leadership and demonstrated people management abilities with a strategic mind.
  • Experience creating and maintaining a continuous deployment development process
  • Action-mindset. Ability to make decisions quickly.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of engineering practices and product development.
  • ​​Experience managing the software development lifecycle using agile methodologies.
