Quality Assurance / Engineer Full Job Description

General Summary

The purpose of this position is to perform material, product and process inspections, and to ensure that the required specifications and standards are met during fabrication and assembly.

Essential Functions

To ensure that company and customer fabrication standards and specifications are met through inspection, audits, mechanical assembly, cosmetic criteria and handling processes.

  • Perform dimensional and visual inspection on material and fabricated components
  • Use measuring equipment calipers, Cmm, Faro-Arm, Laser scanner to inspect for dimensional and tolerance conformance
  • Use drawings, standards and GD&T specifications and their application to ensure products comply with requirements
  • Participate with cross-functional teams when needed to investigate and resolve fabrication related ISO and AIAG standards and conformance
  • May, as directed, perform specialized product repairs, control and process non- conforming material. Such as corrective actions, control plans, FMEA' s
  • Document, as required, processes and inspection results for the purpose of tracking and control

Physical Demands

Physical demands associated with this position including lifting parts up to 40 pounds, varied standing, walking and sitting throughout the facility.

Specific Knowledge

Requires manufacturing and fabrication processes equipment capability and experience and job skills from material supplier down to part and process level.

  • Have an understanding of and experience with ISO documentation and use
  • Detail oriented
  • Good problem analysis and process resolution skills
  • Experienced using test and measurement equipment

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree preferred, HS/GED required
  • 2 years in Sheet Metal Fabrication inspection
  • Familiarity with most measuring tools preferred
  • Attention to detail
  • Technically oriented
  • Computer work proficient excel, word
  • Team player/ able to take initiative
  • Must have the ability to multi-task in a manufacturing environment to meet production demands
  • Proficient in the use of Inspection Tools and Measuring Equipment such as calipers, protractors, tape measure, Cmm, Faro-Arm, Laser scanner
  • Read and Interpret blueprints standard and GD&T
  • Inspecting Experience in Welding, laser cutting, press brake, machining, powder coat is a plus
  • Ability to Work well in a Team oriented environment

Wages:

$19.00 - $26.00

The shift premium for the night shift is $2/Hr.

The shift premium for the weekend shift is $3/Hr.
