Job Responsibilities:

As a Lead Cook at The McAuley, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Create Culinary Magic: Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and planned menus while demonstrating proper meal planning techniques.

  • Delight Residents: Portion and serve food items during meal service in an attractive and appetizing manner, meeting resident individual preferences and special requests in a timely, safe, and sanitary manner.

  • Elevate Special Occasions: Prepare food for special functions in an attractive and flavorful manner, ensuring every event is memorable.

  • Maintain Quality Standards: Properly store all food items, prepare work areas, and operate, clean, and sanitize equipment according to procedures to maintain our high standards of quality.

  • Safety First: Follow HACCP Standards for food safety, including food temperatures, food storage, and hygiene practices.

  • Stay Tidy: Keep the food service working area clean and organized according to posted work/cleaning schedules.

  • Team Player: Assist with receiving and storage of supplies in accordance with HACCP guidelines and support the Executive Chef in ensuring quality food service.

  • Report and Resolve: Report incomplete work assignments or conflicts that may warrant disciplinary actions of employees to the Executive Chef.

  • Commit to Excellence: Maintain high standards of business and ethical conduct, avoiding activities that could result in a conflict of interest.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Cook or Lead Cook in a healthcare or senior living setting is preferred.

  • Knowledge of food safety guidelines and practices.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
