The CT Technologist is responsible for screening, positioning and imaging of patient. The CT technologist will work closely with the CT Team Leader and Radiologist to produce the most diagnostic images possible in accordance with the Radiologist protocol.
The Department of X-Ray/Imaging exists to provide to our patients in a prompt, competent manner diagnostic testing utilizing state-of-the-art equipment. We are a fully digital department, including general diagnostic radiography, fluoroscopy, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Digital Mammography, Stereotactic Core Biopsy, Bone Density, CT scans, and MRI. We have a 3tesla MRI large bore unit, the largest in the area.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / LICENSURE
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program and registered as a Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Advanced certification in CT; OR CT registry-eligible, with completion of advanced certification in CT within one year of date of hire.
Maintain Continuing Education credits (24 CEU in two-year period) and other requirements to maintain ARRT certification.
Per Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (MDLRA) , 11 of the 24 CME must be CT-related and 2 of the 24 CME must be Radiation Safety-related
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Two years as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
One year CT experience preferred
Must have good working knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
Must be proficient in venipuncture
Must know methods to set up and operate CT equipment, with an emphasis on reduction in patient radiation dose
Must be very conscientious and detail-oriented person with excellent communication skills and demonstrate excellent customer service skills to deal effectively with patients, and various levels of hospital personnel, outside customers, and community groups
