The Cook is responsible for supervising hot food production and other areas as assigned. Additionally, the candidate we seek as a Cook will participate in creating menus, purchasing foods, controlling food costs and maintaining a sanitary work environment.
Recognizes special needs/concerns of populations served and adjusts communication accordingly, i.e., language barrier, diminished hearing, concrete terms, etc. Recognizes and integrates cultural differences in menu planning and food production.
Prepares food for all ages; utilizes recipes appropriately. Ensures food is prepared in accordance with HACCP guidelines.
Produces appropriate amounts of food; ascertains that proper quantities are prepared and leftovers utilized.
Participates in menu planning for a variety of service areas, including patient, cafeteria, and special events.
Adheres to applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures.
Qualifications
HS diploma or equivalency
Proven culinary skills
3-5 years experience
Preferred Qualification(s)
Formal training in food preparation
