Description:

The Cook is responsible for supervising hot food production and other areas as assigned. Additionally, the candidate we seek as a Cook will participate in creating menus, purchasing foods, controlling food costs and maintaining a sanitary work environment.

• Recognizes special needs/concerns of populations served and adjusts communication accordingly, i.e., language barrier, diminished hearing, concrete terms, etc. Recognizes and integrates cultural differences in menu planning and food production.

• Prepares food for all ages; utilizes recipes appropriately. Ensures food is prepared in accordance with HACCP guidelines.

• Produces appropriate amounts of food; ascertains that proper quantities are prepared and leftovers utilized.

• Participates in menu planning for a variety of service areas, including patient, cafeteria, and special events.

• Adheres to applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures.​

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalency

• Proven culinary skills

• 3-5 years experience

Preferred Qualification(s)

• Formal training in food preparation
