The Collector is responsible for accurate and timely collection follow up of payment due to Loyola University Health System (LUHS). This includes calling private and/or group insurance carriers responsible for payment of hospital charges for insured patients, contacting Governmental Managed care programs (Medicare/Medicaid) responsible for payment of services provided to eligible patients, communicating with other hospital departments (i.e., Patient Access, HIM/Coding, Utilization Review/Case Management, Managed Care, etc.) to obtain demographic, clinical, financial and insurance information, and responding to patient and third party payer inquiries to ensure timely adjudication of claims processed within Patient Financial Services (PFS).

Required: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education
Preferred: Bachelors Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education
Minimum Experience:
Required: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience
Preferred: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
