Appian Architect - Job Description:

This role will design and develop Appian solutions, to include:

• Implementing end to end process automation using cutting edge technologies
• In collaboration with more senior associates, lead different parts of solution delivery along with internal technology, vendor, and business partners
• Gather requirements through understanding of business users' needs and challenges
• Bring perspective on new technologies that could impact business and conduct proof of concepts to test the hypothesis
• Support initial set-up of Appian
• Coordinate with application support teams during the solution development, deployment, and support
• Test quality, troubleshoot, and support entire solution across all components
• Ability to work independently as well as in a highly collaborative, team-based environment

Required skills/Level of Experience:

• 3 years of recent hands-on experience with Appian BPM
• 2 years of experience developing Appian Plugin
• Good working knowledge of Application Servers like JBoss, Weblogic, IIS etc. as part of the installation
• 2 year of experienced in configuring, debugging, and systems integration including configuring forms, reports, underlying logic, and interface components as a developer
• 1 experienced with relational databases and SQL scripting
• 3 years of experience in all phases of software development for large-scale business critical applications following Agile methodologies
• 3 years of experience in the design and implementation of SOAP and REST Web Service
• Experience working with users to gather and refine requirements
• Broad-based general technology ecosystem and industry understanding

Nice to have skills:

• Certified Level 2 Appian Developer or Certified Level 3 Appian Developer
• 2 years of recent work experience on a software development project in a Federal government setting
• Experience defining and documenting architecture for technology implementations leveraging different architectural views
• Exposure to common industry platforms and programming languages – Appian BPM, IBM WebSphere, Mule, LAMP/JBOSS, HADOOP, Java, Microsoft/.Net is preferred
• 3 years of experience in Enterprise Application integration (SOA, ESB) and n-tier client-server architectures preferred
• Experience working with Appian Sites
• Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations
• Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements
• Excellent analytical and technical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork and facilitation

Statement of Work:

Team Trilogy is seeking an Appian Architect to support our customer at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) - Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA).

In this role, you will serve to automate the systems triage and handling of mail associated with Veterans benefits. The goal is to rapidly accelerate our drive to 100% unattended mail automation, for all C&P mail packets. VBA seeks to dramatically reduce mail processing times to where Veteran mail is handled the same day it is received to ensure that their claims information reaches decision-makers faster. VBA plans to achieve this goal for Disability Compensation and Pension (C&P) mail by leveraging the contractor services according to a phased automation schedule.
