Sanitation Manager 

Tribe 9 Foods is a partnership of value-based brands (RP’s Pasta Co., Taste Republic, and Yumbutter) with a mission to promote eating and living well. Tribe 9 is positioned to make big inroads in the natural and conventional food space and is looking for somebody to sell Tribe 9 Foods’s products to a wide range of customers.

Position Summary

Oversees Sanitation Supervisors and employees and is ultimately accountable for all activities and results related to sanitation programs within location. This position directly interfaces with Production mgmt. and Quality Assurance departments.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Oversees the successful cleaning and ultimate inspection of all equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards in an efficient manner.
• Works closely with chemical consultant in reviewing chemical usage and operating procedures.
• Continuously audits premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.
• Assures the maintenance and updating of all chemical cleaning procedures.
• Assures the proper execution of the Master Cleaning schedule to address non-routine cleaning duties.
• Works closely with Sanitation Supervisors, Quality Assurance and Production management regarding any sanitation concerns. Initiates resolution with appropriate teams.
• Confers with management and production personnel on sanitation opportunities, and recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and effectiveness of process.
• Compiles required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies. Routes reports to designated plant personnel.
• Updates VP of Operations on a continuous basis regarding the successes and opportunities of his teams.
• Directly oversees a sanitation team of approx. 20 staff and 2 Supervisors.
• Carries out these responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training permanent and temporary employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Responsible for Safety and Safety trainings of all Sanitation Employees.

Key Qualifications Include:

• 5-10 years of related experience.
• Ability to train in all Sanitation areas.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Experience writing routine reports and correspondence, as well as speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Basic mathematics skills, including the ability to calculate ratios and percentages, are required.
• Computer skills: Proficiency with word-processing and spreadsheet applications required (MS Word & Excel preferred).

• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Bilingual: Spanish/English Required
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
