Accounting Assistant - Intern

Tribe 9 Foods is a partnership of value-based brands (RP’s Pasta Co., Carla’s Pasta, Taste Republic, and Yumbutter) with a mission to promote eating and living well. Tribe 9 is positioned to make big inroads in the natural and conventional food space and is looking for somebody to support our team.

Work Schedule and Hours:

Great opportunity and challenge to work in our finance/accounting department. Ideally, 3 or more days a week from 8:00am – 2:00pm. Around 18-20 hours a week. Summertime increasing hours when school is out. Or consistent schedule and Tribe 9 will be flexible around your classes.

Accounting Project and Key Ingredients for this Role:

• Accounts payable, Accounts Receivable and data entry over-flow.
• Handling payments in an organized and timely manner.
• Ensuring imaging of invoice supporting documents is timely and accurately performed.
• Assisting with audit support as necessary.
• Assisting in streamlining the accounts payable process.

Additional Project work

• Organize company IT equipment and phones. Set-up new user email addresses. Ordering and tracking company office equipment and maintaining vender relationships.
• Scheduling key meetings, reception area duties, directing incoming phone calls and ordering supplies.
• Update and organize employee work chart.
• Create and maintain positive relationships with all internal and external customers.

Recipe for Success:

• Actively enrolled in a business administration, finance or accounting program.
• Experience in finance/accounting a definite plus.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office suite programs.
• Demonstrate good communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage assigned tasks and small projects per scope and timeline.
• Willingness to learn the accounting process and apply key principles.
• Organized and structured with an ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
• Assess daily tasks and achieve them in a timely manner while communicating status and progress.
