MEDICAL DIRECTOR/
FAMILY PRACTICE MEDICAL PROVIDER
Tri-Town Community Action Agency is seeking an innovative full-time (40 hours/week) Medical Director and practicing Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) of Family Practice Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to act as a key leader and vital member of the Agency’s Core Leadership Team, and to guide the Health Center’s Clinical Team through a coordinated care transformation process to continuing as an exemplary Level 3 PCMH Practice. This position requires creativity and leadership by an adept manager who is well versed in EHR. The position requires 50% time devoted to clinical hours (20/week) and 50% devoted to administrative hours (20/week)
The position of Medical Director Reports directly to the Tri-Town Community Action Agency’s Chief Executive Officer and is classified as an Exempt Employee.
About Tri-Town Community Action Agency’s Health Center: The Tri-Town Community Action Agency is a private, non-profit corporation which has been providing a broad range of multi-purpose services and programs targeting individuals and families living at or below 200% of poverty since its inception in 1965. The Mission of the Agency is “To provide community residents with accessible, quality, and comprehensive health, education, prevention, child care, nutrition, employment and training, economic security social and other support services in their self-directed goals toward transitioning out of poverty and into social and economic self-sufficiency.”
Tri-Town’s Health Center provides Preventive and Primary Care Services, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Integrated Behavioral Health, Chronic Disease Risk Management and Prevention, Dental/Oral Health Services, Nurse Care Management/Care Coordination, Family Planning (Title X), WIC, Women’s Cancer Screening Program, WISEWOMAN, Pediatrics, Women’s Health, Ob/Gyn Services, Pre-Natal Care, Tobacco Treatment and Counseling Services, On-Site Laboratory Services, Medical Referral, Health Coaching, Patient Navigators, and Community Health Outreach to over 6,000 patients annually. .
The Health Center is a designated Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC); a Level Three NCQA Recognized Patient Centered Medical Home and is Licensed by the RI Department of Health and the RI Department of Behavioral Health, Developmental Disabilities and Hospitals. The Health Center is located at two different sites in the Towns of North Providence and Johnston.
General Requirements and Qualifications: General: The Medical Director is responsible for the supervision, leadership, and evaluation of the primary care provider team of physicians, mid-level practitioners, and other clinical staff as required and maintains a balance between administrative responsibilities and direct patient care. As an active member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Medical Director serves as a role model for excellence and continuous quality improvement within the organization. The Medical Director oversees and directs clinical quality of care, risk management, and regulatory compliance as per HRSA utilizing clinical best-practice guidelines. Clinical and administrative experience working in an out-patient ambulatory health care setting with knowledge of Federally Qualified Health Centers is strongly preferred.
Specific Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must possess or be eligible to obtain a license to practice Medicine in the State of Rhode Island and have a valid DEA license. Must be Board Certified or Eligible and have a strong commitment to working with the medically underserved populations;
- Must be credentialed, or be eligible to be credentialed with insurance companies;
- Must have Acceptable National Practitioner Databank Results;
- Minimum of two (2) years of FQHC or similar experience;
- Must have two (2) years of Management and Clinical experience;
- Spanish-Speaking Bi-Lingual Candidate a plus;
- High Proficiency in EMR required (NextGen a plus);
