We work hand in hand with the award-winning creative teams that forge those innovative partnerships at Translation (our in-house creative advertising agency).
We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team in Brooklyn, NY.

# What You’ll Do

The role will report directly to the VP Finance and will have responsibility for a variety of financial activities. The ideal candidate will be a natural numbers wizard with a basic working knowledge of GAAP to apply principles of accounting, analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. The role would assist the VP Finance with monthly management reporting via presentation and implementation of data warehouse automated reporting on key UM operating metrics and ad hoc financial analysis functions.

• Prepare monthly Business review packages for various department leaders and key executives
• Update Partner Artist dashboards for financial and operational KPIs for Exclusive Partners
• Provide ongoing support to leaders in the organization for preparation, review, and consolidation of the annual operating and capital budgets as well as Long Range Planning
• Assist with monthly capital/expense tracking, forecasting and, variance analysis
• Prepare monthly reporting, variance analysis, and communicates monthly results to department heads and project owners
• Assist with the monthly accounting close and reconciliation
• Review Exclusive Artist Capital Advances including NPV modeling and variance analysis
• Communicate with the Leads to handle operational budgets, model business scenarios that drive transparency and accuracy
• Analyze and monitor financial and operational trends, integrating data from several sources, to develop a comprehensive view of performance
• Ad hoc analysis as needed for executives as needed

# Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Highly analytical, able to cut through the complexity of big data and provide concise and actionable narratives
• Ability to learn quickly, be flexible and adapt to changing industry and organizational landscape
• Enjoys digging into financial analysis, improvement in execution, and owning end to end processes
• Have a strong sense of urgency and understands that “speed” matters, handle multiple responsibilities, and work independently with minimal direct supervision
• Continuous improvement mind-set – ability to seek out and implement internal or external standard methodologies
• Highly proficient in Microsoft suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Netsuite and Datarails/DOMO/SQL are a plus
• Experience in Media/Entertainment or a technology facing role/industry a plus!

# Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree Required
• 3-5 years of experience in Finance or related field
• Knowledge of accounting (GAAP) and finance principles

Salary Hiring Range: $95,000 - 105,000

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide (e.g. bonus, stock options, 401(k) match, etc.)

Individual pay rate decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors. 

The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate.

The salary range above is for NY/CA. As a company, we have a location based strategy, which means the salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired in another location.
