Onboarding Specialist

Established in 1999, Transcon Environmental, Inc., offers environmental consulting services throughout the United States with our Corporate Office based in Mesa, AZ and offices in Ferndale, San Francisco, and Santa Rosa, California; Cedar City and Draper, Utah; Rawlins, Wyoming; and Roanoke, Virginia.

Our highly successful team of environmental planners, biologists and archaeologists provides environmental planning, permitting, and compliance as well as infrastructure siting, Class I and Class III studies, Historic Property Treatment Plans, and environmental construction management and monitoring. Transcon is seeking an experienced Onboarding Specialist to do post hire onboarding, employee screenings (basics), and be a welcoming advocate for our employees! This position can either be in the office (Mesa AZ) or remote (with availability to come to the office for meetings when needed).

  • Update and refine Onboarding Presentation
  • Welcome the new employees while administering onboarding presentations
  • Coordinate company presentations (HR related)
  • Inform employees on their first tasks (e.g. which programs to download and how to activate their accounts)
  • Ensure new hires have technical assistance to properly set up their hardware and software
  • Distribute manuals, passwords, and guidelines, as needed
  • Address new hires’ queries regarding their contracts and payroll
  • Assist with recruiting and screening applicants
  • Assist in writing job description
  • Other duties related to this position and Human Resources

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field, or equivalent work experience required
  • 3 years of experience in Human Resources or Project Management role with 1 year(s) in a recruitment role preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of HRIS or Applicant Tracking Systems (ATSs)
  • Ability to lead and/or participate in virtual meetings in a distraction-free environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet timelines on deliverables
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically with Microsoft Excel
