Transcon Environmental is Hiring an Environmental Planner Near Santa Rosa, CA

Environmental Planner

Established in 1999, Transcon Environmental, Inc., offers environmental consulting services throughout the United States with our Corporate Office based in Mesa, AZ and offices in Ferndale and Santa Rosa, California; Cedar City and Draper, Utah; Rawlins, Wyoming; and Roanoke, Virginia.

We are a steadily growing company with telecommuting opportunities employing over 200 employees throughout the United States. Our highly successful team of environmental planners, biologists and archaeologists provides environmental planning, permitting, and compliance as well as infrastructure siting, Class I and Class III studies, Historic Property Treatment Plans, and environmental construction management and monitoring. We are seeking qualified mid-level or senior environmental planners with 5-10 years of experience to perform project coordination, permitting, NEPA and CEQA activities associated with energy and telecom development projects. Candidates applying for this position will be based out of one of Transcon’s offices or remote from home. The position may require occasional travel to project locations or agency offices (<10% of business days).

Compensation and Benefits:

This full-time position is an exempt (salary) position with eligibility for benefits such as healthcare insurance, paid time off, etc. Employees will be reimbursed for mileage and travel time. Compensation is based on qualifications, location, and relevant experience.

Skills and Requirements:

  • S. degree (M.S. preferred) in land planning and/or a closely related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of NEPA and CEQA
  • Ability to perform work duties independently and efficiently with short deadlines
  • Highly organized, motivated, thorough, accurate, dependable, and trustworthy
  • Ability to interact and coordinate with state, federal, local, and tribal agencies
  • Note-taking ability

Experience in the following is preferred:

  • Experience working with or for federal, state, or local agencies is a plus
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Familiarity with typical utility operations and maintenance activities
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and ESRI GIS applications (including desktop, ArcGIS, Collector, Survey123, etc.)
  • Excellent navigation skills and good driving record
  • Experience driving a four-wheel drive vehicle off-road or in rough terrain

***Applicants must have a clean driving record for at least 5 years prior to the start of work.
