Job Description Summary Responsible for assisting with the execution of legal transactions, and preparation and processing of legal documents of the most complex nature as a member of the Corporate Secretarial and Governance team. Job Description Responsibilities: Assists the Corporate Secretarial and Governance team with the support of Transamerica legal entity subsidiaries, including but not limited to: drafting related corporate documentation, scheduling and organizing board meetings and materials, maintaining extensive corporate books and records and the related legal entity database, preparing regulatory filings and being a legal entity subject matter expert to provide cross-functional support for strategic initiatives. Performs legal assignments that are varied and complex in nature that will require originality, ingenuity and high degree of technical skill. Works under minimum supervision. Identify law and analyze application/compliance of the law. Direct interaction with internal clients and external constituencies requiring a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.. Presented with unusual legal issues or complex matters requiring research or project management and coordination. Qualifications: 5 years of paralegal experience. 2 years formal legal training or equivalent. Extensive knowledge of relevant area of responsibility. Preferred Qualifications: Capable of communicating effectively with co-workers and those in other departments. Superior written and oral communication skills required. Must possess excellent organizational skills. Must be able to prioritize to meet deadlines. Self-initiative to create efficiencies and good processes within the Law Department. **Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation. ** Compensation: The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $31 - 38. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2. Bonus Eligibility: This position is also typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at Company Discretion at a rate of 7.5%.
