Job Summary:

This role develops, enhances, and maintains consistent, efficient, and accurate Power BI reports and dashboards to support our operations. We have many opportunities to add data sources and to provide the business with new tools and provide actionable insights. Candidates must have Power BI development experience and pass a proficiency test.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with internal customers to identify the data sets and metrics needed to support key business decisions with data management, automation and analysis via reporting and dashboards
• Building and maintaining analysis service report models
• Connecting to multiple data sources, importing and transforming data
• Create datasets for self-service reporting and service dashboards
• Publish reports via the Power BI service, managing them through distribution of apps and monitoring usage/data refreshes/security access

• Develop Business requirement documents, technical specifications and design documents using appropriate documentation standards
• Ownership of data dictionary and other standards
• Utilizing available tools, such as Power BI, Azure pipelines / data factories, Power Automate / flow, SharePoint, email groups to develop and distribute reports and dashboards to users

Minimum Requirements:

Experience

• Demonstrated experience with Power BI development.
• 5 years in BI: UX experience preferred, MS Power stack experience a plus
• Cloud service experience a plus
• Experience with multiple external data sources including big data

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in computer science

Skills

• Prior experience creating reporting and analytics with BI tools, with emphasis on visualization
• Understanding of data relationships and relation data structures
• Experience in data preparation, data gateway, and data warehousing projects
• Collaboration with multiple stakeholders including business users, technical application specialists and other team members
• Proficient in creating Data Analysis Expression (DAX) queries and knowledge on Native Query in Power BI Desktop
• Ability to identify how best to visualize a given data set and to create those visualizations
• Ability to transform business-level requirements to actionable dashboards and visualizations

Work Environment:

Employee works in a busy administrative office with moderate noise as well as visiting other offices, warehouses, production environments and external partner sites.
