This position is responsible for assisting the Store Manager in all operational and team member aspects of a specialty retail farm and ranch store. Primary duties include assisting the store manager in building the team, driving sales, customer service, managing inventory, managing profit and sales, expense control, reducing and managing shrink.
1. Assist Store Manager in recruiting, hiring, developing, evaluating, disciplining, and retaining efficient team members.
2. Schedule, organize, and plan daily activities for team members to insure efficient store operations.
3. Assist store manager in training and leading team members in providing exceptional customer service.
4. Communicate company processes, policies, and directives to team members and monitoring their execution. Evaluate those processes for effectiveness and coordinate with district manager and/or regional manager to eliminate problems.
5. Create a desirable work environment through promotions, recognition, and empowerment.
6. Assist the store manager with problem solving and conflict resolution for both team members and customers.
7. Learn sales and profit management – accountable for achieving top and bottom line.
8. Promote a safe and productive work environment for team members and customers.
9. Assist with the managing of daily merchandise flow to insure adequate in-stock and inventory controls.
10. Assist with the organizing of merchandise resets to company specifications on a periodic basis.
11. Implement and sustain merchandise presentation per company standards.
12. Review and refresh product display.
13. Assist the store manager with evaluating competitive environment and working with Operations and Merchandising teams to insure quality and performance.
14. PAPERWORK:
a. Train on daily, weekly, and monthly processing of required paperwork including but not limited to invoices, schedules, product orders and returns, and POS reports.
b. Train to do periodic sales forecasting, payroll analysis and budget review.
c. Train on documentation of team member evaluations and corrective action.
15. INVENTORY:
a. Train on managing periodic price changes.
b. Assist the store manager on communicating inventory needs to buyers and distribution centers.
c. Work with the buyers, supply chain management, district managers, and distribution centers to solve inventory problems.
d. Manage periodic inventory control process.
16. SPECIAL PROJECTS:
a. Assist store manager with the coordinating and conducting special sales events.
b. Train to assist district manager and other store managers in solving district issues and support operational needs.
c. Community involvement.
