The Tool and Die Maker designs and develops tooling that includes test equipment, assembly fixtures and jigs, stamping dies. These tooling's are designed to meet the requirements of the manufacturing processes and the finished component drawings. Works with complex projects and processes from the early stages of development in order to maximize manufacturability, minimize cost and drive continuous improvement.

KEY TASKS

• Build up and maintain molds and dies for use in production
• Set-up of assembly fixtures and dies
• Repair of dies and assembly fixtures as needed
• Works with stamping, welding and other departments to troubleshoot and repair equipment, perform preventative maintenance, or assist with other maintenance activities.

• All other additional tasks assigned throughout course of employment

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

• High school diploma or GED. Journeyman/Journeywoman or other relevant occupational certification preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of three years working with general manufacturing machinery maintenance work with graduated experience.
• Experience with manufacturing processes including investment casting, stamping, thermo-forming and/or wire forming a plus.
• Experience with Ram and Wire EDM
• Experience in design and troubleshooting of small progressive dies.
• Work experience with exotic metals, plastics, and other materials in manufacturing. Preferred experience with medical device applications.

Skills:

• Strong relevant computer and organizational skills as required to maintain documentation and records for regulatory compliance.
• Strong communication skills, in English
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitudes and a working knowledge of general maintenance
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and complete assigned tasks
