Toyotetsu Mid America is Hiring an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist Near Owensboro, KY

Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist 2nd Shift 4pm-1am

TTMA has 1 (one) opening for a Specialist on second shift in our EHS Department. This position reports directly to the EHS Manager and Assistant Manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the coordination of TTMA's reporting and compliance programs.
  • Conduct safety audits; investigate safety concerns and accidents.
  • Implement corrective action response to safety audits as needed.
  • Maintain TTMA safety/environmental policies and procedures, in compliance with State, Federal and local regulations.
  • Assist in revising and implementation TTMA's safety/environmental programs.
  • Coordinate all emergency response activities for tornado, fire, spill, and injuries.
  • Provide training for Team Members on new and existing safety/environmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of an effective ergonomic program to reduce/eliminate ergonomic related injuries.
  • Provide 1st Responder services as needed.
  • Coordinate all incidents in which Team Members/Temporaries must seek outside medical attention and communicate this information to the EHS Manager and EHS Assistant Manager.
  • Enforce safety/environmental policies and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a safety related field or,
  • Four (4) years of applicable experience, and high school diploma or G.E.D., or,
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Technical Competencies:

  • Proficient personal computer and system software skills.
  • Ability to use shop tools.

  • Interpersonal skills (relationship building, teamwork, conflict resolution, customer orientation).
  • Communication (verbal communication, listening, written communication).
