We are a general dental office that also provides implant and orthodontic services. Our office is seeking a Dental Assistant/Registered Dental Assistant with great interpersonal communication and patient care skills. This individual should be able to follow dental procedures and respect dental office regulations. They should be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and be able to make office procedures as smooth as possible. Promptness and dependability are very important!
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)
· Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations
· Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry, set up operatories, review fees and post-op instructions, take intraoral images and digital x-rays, input treatment plans and present them to patients, assist in patient education, and any lab duties as needed with efficiency and precision.
· Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and operatories in accordance with ADA guidelines. Maintain a clean and safe back office area
· Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment where your patients feel comfortable
· Proficiency in dental software (Dentrix preferred), computer/television skills, basic phone skills, scheduling patients, and writing emails.
· Create and update patient records, and any other necessary information, following HIPAA guidelines
· Assist the front office as necessary with front office duties which include answering calls and contacting patient, scheduling appointments, payment procedures, and other general clerical duties
· Other DA and RDA responsibilities depending on certifications and licenses
Skills
· Proven experience as a dental assistant
· Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization method, and an understanding of health & safety regulations
· Knowledge of implants, and orthodontics (including Invisalign) is preferred
· Attention to detail, well-organized, and reliable
· High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred; CPR license and x-ray certification are required
