The SHS Instructional Designer is responsible for supporting instructors and departments in the School of Health Sciences in addressing complex teaching and learning issues related to instructional design as it relates to traditional hybrid and online courses. The Instructional Designer plays a key role as a resource in designing and developing high quality support resources including training guides, videos and on-demand options to address day-to-day faculty needs, and produce best-in-class and interactive exercises that support student success. This person will engage in ongoing research to identify the tools and assets to ensure faculty are able to engage in best-practice in their pedagogy. In addition, the Instructional Designer is responsible for data collection and analysis, compliance audits, maintaining certifications for all faculty, and supervising procedures and requirements of faculty aligned in the SHS Technology Policy. The Instructional Designer will function to provide technical support for the Learning Management System (LMS) Canvas. This person will be part of the broader Instructional Design team at Touro University and in that capacity, has dotted line reporting responsibilities to the Vice President of Online Education.
