The Speech-Language Pathologist participates as an integral member of the Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities team in terms of evaluation, treatment planning, and service implementation. The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for conducting initial speech therapy evaluations, providing direct one-on-one and small group therapy, and contributing to multidisciplinary diagnostic evaluations and multidisciplinary meetings.
This is a grant-funded position.
1.1. Develop and implement treatment plans based upon evaluation results.
1.2. Co-facilitate groups and/or conduct individual sessions in the areas of social skills and parent training as appropriate
1.3. Maintain strong communication with the family and provide at-home strategies.
2.1. Complete forms for insurance billing, documentation, and charting in a timely manner to assist in billing and collection for services rendered
2.2. Sanitize toys and equipment
2.3. Ensure adults and children follow Center policies and procedures
Education:
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CCC)
ASHA Clinical Fellow (CFY) - strong candidate considered
State of Nevada License – Speech Language Pathology, in good standing
Experience:
Two years’ experience in pediatric and developmental disabilities; five years preferred
Experience in Autism preferred
Skills & Abilities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Work independently as well as collaboratively
Knowledge and understanding of ethical principles and guidelines
Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action
Strong knowledge of HIPAA Privacy Rules and Regulations
