WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
TSTC is looking for an Junior Project Manager with a TS/SCI clearance to support our contract at Coast Guard. This position will assist in project and portfolio management across several support areas. The successful candidate will have a background in project management. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology, operations analyses, and/or engineering.
WHO ARE YOU?
  • Ability to think outside the box to solve problems; an analytical problem solver who looks at a problem in a unique way and can apply effective and efficient solutions.
  • 1 years’ experience in project management.
  • 3 years’ experience supporting a military or federal agency.
  • Experience working with project management methodology including project planning, control and assurance methodologies, project management software and finance and accounting concepts and practices.
  • A self-starter, able to effectively work with senior level stakeholders, our partners and project team members.
  • A detail-oriented person who enjoys a challenge, can effectively set priorities, multi-task, and mentor other more junior team members.
  • Likes to work on teams and interact across the team and with the client.
  • Have an understanding of military structure and language.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Assist in managing project schedule and quality via project deliverables.
  • Perform ongoing review(s) of project status; identify possible project risks; recommend and implement risk mitigation solutions as approved and as appropriate.
  • Monitor progress of project requirements and provide reports/updates to appropriate management, boards and committees, and business function managers to support projects in achieving the intended business results.
  • Assist in coordinating changes in project direction, scope, benefits, costs, and timing while minimizing risks.
  • Provide strategic analysis, preparing reports that will be briefed to the highest levels within the client organization; assist with defining and implementing organizational change and transformation.
  • Embrace and leverage industry best practice requirements analysis and development principles.
  • Formulate and define systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirement.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology, operations analysis, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant software: MS Project and the MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Highly organized and efficient, with the ability to manage multiple conflicting deadlines.
  • Good Interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and clients.
  • Understanding of Federal Government contracting in the professional support services industry.
  • Strong experience in using quality control processes to ensure that products, deliverables, and data are standardized and accurate.
  • Commitment to providing the best service and solutions possible to meet client’s mission needs.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours per week on occasion to meet client deadlines.
SECURITY CLEARANCE:
Applicants selected must be a U.S. Citizen. A Top-Secret clearance is required to start. The position also requires successfully passing a very in depth SCI process.
WHERE YOU'LL WORK:On site in Washington 2-3 days per week. Remote the other days. Travel occasionally to local CONUS sites.
