Summary of This Role Assist and support in the design and implementation of monitoring solutions based on our core tools landscape including Splunk, Aternity APM, ThousandEyes Synthetics, LogicMonitor, and CA IM Suite. Ensure the solutions monitor, trend, and alert on performance and issues of the Global Payments Distributed and Mainframe systems. Solve technical monitoring problems which involve large scale inter-disciplinary objectives with multiple, heterogeneous, distributed and/or mainframe systems that are embedded in networks at multiple levels. Hold and Maintain a proficiency in monitoring technologies and industry best practices. The position provides enterprise monitoring and alerting services to application teams, network/database teams, and support to GNOC for any production issues. This position will be working with our Splunk technology stack. More specifically, Splunk ITSI. This position will be handling the implementation of ITSI as our event management platform. This position will work with different teams in order to establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and alerting. Alerting will be built for reactive and proactive responses. This position will handle new strategic project workload, business as usual (BAU) tasks, and production support activities. DESCRIPTION: Continually review application and system logs to identify exceptions, errors, and performance bottlenecks in real time. Work with colleagues to automate the corrective actions, to include escalating and alerting to appropriate support groups through our GNOC. Collaborate with System Administrators, development groups, and/or vendors on the performance/baseline testing of all application changes. Setup and/or follow batch monitoring guidelines for the Distributed and Mainframe systems to ensure integrity and SLA completion. Support troubleshooting teams in identifying and resolving technical problems in a timely and accurate manner, and ensure application performance, availability and functionality. Manages multiple concurrent intake streams, adjusting priorities where needed to focus on rapid delivery of service. Review, create and maintain documentation for established monitoring solutions, to include changes and upgrades to systems, to ensure up to date documentation. Stay current of changes in the industry, identify potential impacts or enhancements, and provide feedback to more senior team members and/or management when needed. Implements standardized automation of procedures to mitigate risks associated with manual processing errors.
