President- Freight Brokerage

This individual will be responsible for directing daily activities of the office as well as the training and managing the Sales, Operations and Brokerage teams. They will also be overseeing all aspects of profitability, team member development, and customer and carrier satisfaction. This position reports to the CEO.

Responsibilities:

• Strive for continuous improvement with a specific focus on identifying best practices to achieve uncompromised customer satisfaction.
• Design and implement a logistics strategy which meets current/strategic objectives while also meeting customer needs focusing on cost, speed, and reliability.
• Develop relationships with key transportation providers, negotiate rates and contracts as needed, and help develop service metrics with all carriers and outsourced partners.
• Oversee and participate in the business development efforts of the sales team. Ensure current customer relations are maintained and strengthened, expand business with new customers in current channels and in adjacent industries.
• A proven track record to grow a profitable firm
• Direct, develop and train operations teams to ensure individual and branch KPIs are met
• Leads the brokerage team, supporting brokers with customer and revenue growth initiatives,
• Maintain strategic relationships with appropriate vendors, including pricing and service standards; coordinate with the vendor base to ensure strategic compliance with our organization’s goals and objectives
• Collaborate with other departments as necessary to meet the organizations needs
• Strong comprehension of various transportation methods and modes

Experience:

• Minimum 5-10 years of experience in operations for a carrier/freight forwarder/third party logistics (3PL)
• Minimum 3-5 years in a leadership position
• Must be a team builder to drive success
