Job Summary

TCT has an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor, to join our growing firm. The successful candidate will lead projects to achieve a high standard of service delivery, with successful outcomes for our clients, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.

Responsibilities

  • Providing accurate cost advice and reporting during the Pre-construction phases of the project
  • Leading cost planning activities at Feasibility Stage and throughout Design Phase
  • Providing Value Management services during project design
  • Leading Risk Analysis services throughout project lifecycle
  • Providing Life Cycle Cost analyses to facilitate decision making
  • Delivering accurate project cost estimates
  • Providing benchmarking of project costs
  • Leading advice related to procurement, contracting strategies and administration of GMP or other contracts
  • Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner
  • Assuming a leading role in setting objectives and priorities, working as a proactive team player
  • Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for successful project completion; liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control and profitability
  • Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting, negotiating and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships
  • Providing Program Management services
  • Establishing and monitoring project budgets
  • Leading advice related to procurement, contracting strategies and administration of GMP or other contracts
  • Review of contractors’ proposals
  • Negotiation of GMPs and other contract vehicles
  • Providing general leadership of the project controls and cost management resources; monitoring project demands and taking ownership of all documents and deliverables created by the team
  • Supervising the development of Primavera schedules and review of contractor schedules
  • Implementing robust monitoring and control processes to ensure project costs, schedules and any related risks are regularly reviewed 
  • Delivering project construction cost reports with cost forecasting and cost control, managing contingencies and regularly reporting to client stakeholders, including delivering presentations and report writing
  • Liaising with the contractor’s project controls and project managers in reviewing, challenging and negotiating supporting cost validation documentation
  • Leading change order and claims review, including review and recommendation of entitlements in accordance with the contractual terms and conditions
  • Overseeing change management work process
  • Leading review of contractor payment applications and recommendations to client

Qualifications

  • BSc in quantity surveying or equivalent
  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
  • Certification with AACEI (CCP)
  • A minimum of ten years’ technical delivery experience gained within a global construction consultancy
  • A minimum of five years working in the USA
  • Experience in managing other qualified staff
  • Experience in reporting to external clients
  • Pre- and post-contract experience
  • Experience in using estimating software
  • Good technical writing, client-facing and communication skills
  • Well-organized, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute
  • A team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic,

As TCT continues to adapt to a changing work environment this role will initially require the first 90 days to be in a TCT office. After said period, this role may become a hybrid work schedule.

Compensation for this role is based upon experience, qualifications and location and typically ranges from $75,000 to $110,000.

TCT’s comprehensive compensation package includes flexible work schedules; company paid medical, dental, and vision coverage; life, short- and long-term disability insurance; employee referral, professional license and year-end bonuses.
