TOPS Software is Hiring an Accounts Receivable Clerk Near Mission Viejo, CA

TOPS is looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team!

As part of our goal to create and support the best community association management software, TOPS offers accounting solutions for clients.

In this role you will prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and miscellaneous income deposits for clients. You will also be available to take phone calls as clients call. For growth paths, if you took accounting classes, you could grow into an Account Payables or Financials role.

Hours include 8-5pm, hour for lunch typically between 12:30 and 1:30pm. We use the Microsoft Office Suite as our internal tools.

The team culture is close-knit and personal. There are 10 people in-office. This full-time role is in-office in Mission Viejo, CA. Compensation range is between $23-24/hr. We have two openings for this role.

What you’ll do

  • Receive and verify expense reports; reconcile expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
  • Facilitate payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensure outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identify discount opportunities, and issue purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
  • Assist with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
  • Record entry of, verify documentation for, and distribute petty cash.
  • Calculate and report sales tax based on paid invoices.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

You should have

  • High school diploma; Business or Accounting degree preferred.
  • At least one year of experience with any accounting software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to learn other accounting software systems.
  • Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
  • Demonstrates reliability and trustworthiness
  • Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Bonus if you have your Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) certification
