Job Overview

Topel Forman is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Operations team in our Chicago office. As the Accounting Manager, you will be reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and will have the opportunity to work closely with Human Resources, the Partner group, and the operations team. As the Accounting Manager, you will manage our internal transactions, and be responsible for proper financial reporting and the payroll process.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and prepares all internal accounting financial reporting in a timely matter.
• Responsible for weekly processing of company bills/expenses through third party payment system.
• Responsible for cash management process.
• Maintains and monitors a system of controls over all accounting transactions.
• Manages accounts payable and receivable process.
• Processes semi-monthly payroll including data input into the payroll system and payroll spreadsheets for reconciliation purposes.
• Prepare federal, state, and local tax filings.

Requirements

• 5 years of internal accounting experience from a mid-sized professional services firm
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• Experience with QuickBooks
• Understanding of U.S. GAAP, budgeting, and financial analysis 
• Proficient MS Office with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical operations initiatives
• Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interact with executive management and all levels of staff
• Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Preferred Requirements

• CPA is preferred
• ADP Workforce Now or Paylocity preferred
