We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to help build out and administer key insights at Top Hat. You will be part of the Business Analytics team, helping to ensure our data is trusted and ready to support the needs of Top Hat’s business goals.

You Will:

• Develop and maintain the data models that will power key insights to stakeholders and drive business growth
• Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, marketing, finance, and sales to arrive at clear definitions the team can implement
• Generate dashboards and automate reports that empower teams across the organization to make data-driven decisions
• Stamp out inconsistencies and inefficiencies in our existing data processes
• Become an expert in our datasets, responding to ad-hoc requests from other departments as needed and adding quality documentation where needed
• Grow and maintain impactful relationships with stakeholders of both technical and non-technical backgrounds with clear and frequent communication
• Champion data quality through automated testing and working with data producers

• 5 years of experience in analytics, data / analytics engineering, or similar quantitative work
• Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Engineering or another quantitative field
• Excellent SQL skills and fluency in Python; bonus points for DBT and Airflow experience
• Experience modelling complex datasets for consumption by multiple stakeholders and having the business acumen to understand their differing requirements
• Automation first mindset, you turn recurring asks into robust processes using software engineering best practices
• Proficiency with visualization tools (Looker, QuickSight, Tableau, etc.) for improving the self serve experience of our stakeholders
• You thrive in both collaborative environments as well as through independent work
• Bonus points for: Experience working in tech products, particularly in startups. Recent experience in higher ed
