TOMS is Hiring a Supply Planning Manager Near Los Angeles, CA

About the Role:

The Supply Planning Manager will be responsible for developing the seasonal buy plan, placing all purchase orders and working cross-functionally with channel leaders to align on orders impacted by minimum order quantities. In addition to owning the seasonal buy plan, the supply planning manager with be responsible for developing and communicating an 18-month supply plan for a footwear category. This role will train and lead the Supply Planner who will be responsible for assuming all of the day-to-day tasks around PO creation, monitoring and expediting. This individual will be responsible for deciding how to best allocate the annual air freight budget and will work with the Supply Planner to ensure the expedition of goods is done appropriately. Additionally, the Supply Planning Manager will be the primary contact with the TOMS Asia Office to ensure on-time product delivery – This includes acting as the liaison between TOMS Asia Office and Home Office teams, providing ongoing updates regarding product buy-readiness, order prioritization, transportation mode, and factory shipments. In addition to these reoccurring tasks, the Supply Planning Manager will be responsible for project managing any supply related strategic initiatives. These strategic initiatives are pillars of the overall strategic objectives for the supply chain and for TOMS in general and will require a significant amount of cross-functional leadership and strong project management skills. This role will directly supervise a Supply Planner.

What You’ll Do:

Manage and oversee supply and inventory planning and execution processes:

  • Develop and execute high-quality supply plans (inventory, production, capacity, and distribution) by utilizing best-practice processes and sound business judgment
  • Manage phase in/out strategies for promotional activities and product discontinuations.
  • Assist in the development and execution of the global inventory strategy and plan in support of both business and giving requirements, including setting inventory targets and working with Finance to establish working capital requirements. Execute the inventory strategy to achieve the expected inventory levels.
  • Lead the development and execution of detailed production planning (master scheduling) with key supply partners and collaborate on MRP requirements
  • Support supplier ramp-up/ramp-down, including ensuring weekly PO planning meetings are established, providing leadership for development of initial capacity model, and manage supply during critical operating periods.
  • Evaluate Sales, Giving and Marketing activity proposals for capacity requirements and production feasibility; resolve supply issues related to the requests

Oversee end to end PO Management - Manage direct material purchase orders (POs) from creation to delivery at end location:

  • Develop and execute high-quality PO plans by utilizing best-practice processes and sound business judgment
  • Execute the PO plan and manage POs from creation to delivery, ensuring delivered cost and service levels are achieved (including managing changes to POs)
  • Work with Sales Operations and Logistics to support customer orders that ship direct from source locations
  • Develop reports and analysis that provide insight to PO status and improvement opportunities

Lead supply planning meetings with key stakeholders to align on business trends, MOQ status, orderbook impact, etc.:

  • Be the primary contact person for the organization on supply plan and forecasts.
  • Create new reports and present the monthly buy review decks for S&OP meetings and executive buy reviews

Support development of the global Supply Chain Planning team and processes:

  • Assist in coaching and training global materials management talent, both on an individual and team basis
  • Develop and deploy Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) that are integrated with internal and external stakeholders, including other departments, suppliers and customers
  • Establish and conduct daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly performance management of supply chain and inventory planning operations
  • Build and maintain a positive, collaborative relationship between the supply chain planning department and other areas of TOMS and TOMS’s external partners and customers

Responsible for making process improvements to the existing supply planning process:

  • Manage and Improve Supply and Inventory Planning performance
  • Working closely with key stakeholders, manage supply and inventory planning performance, quality and resulting total costs. Collaboratively establish, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs.
  • Work with Sourcing and Logistics leadership to manage relationships and processes with suppliers to drive more efficient production and logistics, shorten lead-times and reduce total delivered costs.
  • Deliver against annual total delivered cost, inventory plans, capacity plans, and service level targets
  • Develop and implement strategy for improving key performance indicators; plan, develop and manage corresponding improvement plans
  • Foster cross-functional discussion to improve the quality and interpretation of supply plans
  • Improve planning capabilities through recommendations of system (i.e. SmartOps, Reporting) enhancements.
  • Conduct regular continuous improvement and process effectiveness / efficiency reviews.
  • Build and maintain 18-month supply plan, collecting capacity information from Asia office, and reviewing projected inventory positions on carryover and replenishment inventory.
  • Educate the organization on the buy process and develop reports to communicate post-buy status to improve transparency throughout the organization
  • Oversee the management of all supply related master data by collaborating with the supply planner, Product, Development and Asia office to collect and maintain lead times and review and manage MRP settings
  • Ad hoc analysis and other duties as assigned

What You Bring:

  • 7 years experience working is a CPG Supply Chain environment (footwear, fashion, apparel preferred)
  • Fundamental business understanding and acumen
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Competency in customer focus, change & innovation, strategic thinking, relationship building, influencing and results driven
  • Exceptional Follow-through
  • Experience working with SAP, SAP BI, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Supply chain and business analytics and reporting
