Company Description
Tokeet’s mission is to empower anyone to launch, run and scale a successful short-term rental management business. Our customers are the property managers and owners who rent apartments and homes on vacation rental sites like Airbnb, Booking.com, and Expedia. We aim to provide the tools needed to grow a rental business, while making it cost effective for property managers of every level.
Tokeet provides SaaS software and support for our customers. This burgeoning industry is sometimes called Property Management Software (PMS), and it is all about managing the tasks necessary to coordinate bookings on multiple web sites, communicate with guests and work staff, using AI to set prices, and handle virtual paperwork like contracts and invoicing.
Role Description
  • We are looking for an experienced product manager to lead the current team.
  • Tokeet has an excellent suite of six compatible products which need to be further developed to compete independently in their markets as well as provide an irresistible integrated product stack.
  • All of them have been launched or significantly updated in the past two years. We also have numerous partnerships that need to always integrate seamlessly. You will be responsible for working with and hiring into an existing team while helping build and mold the stack in accordance with the Company vision.
  • The ideal candidate should be trained and experienced in all phases of product management, particularly at the front end with market assessment and strategic thought.
  • You should be familiar with a variety of tools (besides the Atlassian family) and be interested in developing repeatable process as well as train junior product managers to be more than executors of vetted ideas.
Responsibilities
Our Director of Product Management needs to be able to both teach others and lead by example in the following areas:
  • Product Discovery & Delivery. You must be able to gather work items for the development team. This can be a combination of fielding reports from the support team, talking directly with customers, working on defects reported by QA, or analyzing competitors or the market. PMs should also rely on the product analysis tools like Amplitude, TruConversion, and Google Analytics to understand how current users are utilizing their applications and recognize opportunities for improvement. You must ensure that the entire team can create and maintain a prolific development lifecycle in order to constantly deliver new features and improvements. Product managers must be actively capturing, cataloging and prioritizing development work products from all available sources and deliver on these items in a timely manner.
  • Product Strategy & Roadmap. Lead the team to analyze current market conditions, customer needs, and competitor positions to formulate a long term strategy for the product. This strategy should also be manifested in the product feature roadmap and align with the company strategy. It is critical that PMs measure and iterate on each new feature and compare the results of the implementation to the initial expectations. You must formulate an expert understanding of market conditions and intuitively understand what drives the customer. Your vision and direction for the product must be realistic, achievable, and measurable while also hitting company targets.
  • Product Communication. You should develop a cadence of constant weekly or monthly communication to internal stakeholders like support, management, and sales as well as external stakeholders like customers and integration partners. You should ensure that everyone is aware of changes, new features, and create the necessary materials to support each stakeholder group. You must have command of written English well enough to draft product announcement emails, blog posts, in app messaging, help articles and community announcements.
  • Product Revenue Growth. You should be intimately aware of the product deficiencies that drive customers to leave and be actively working on alleviating those pain points. Your team should also be working closely with all customer acquisition groups to increase the customer acquisition rate and monthly incremental revenue. The success criteria for this metric is revenue growth.
  • Product Leadership. Product managers are responsible for executing the “blocking and tackling” tasks of the job, however there are other emotional and nuanced aspects of product management which are equally important. Product managers @ Tokeet are expected to exhibit the following characteristics: 
  • Resilience & persistence - Our product managers are expected to have the resilience and persistence necessary to overcome the early stage challenges and shepherd their products to measurable success.
  • Initiative & Proactiveness - You cannot wait to be directed on what needs to change or what work should be done. Everyone else is looking to you for direction, you should provide it.
  • Enthusiasm - Passion and excitement are prerequisites for success in early stage product development.
  • Creativity - Our product managers are expected to think outside the box and come up with unique ways of propelling their products forward and ahead of the competition.
  • The role is 100% telecommuting. Must be comfortable working on camera with virtual teleconferencing tools. Expect to have some calls at odd hours in order to make a schedule work with worldwide participants.
Experience and Skills
  • 3 years of product management experience with demonstrated success in product launches, market assessment (both demand and competitive assessment), and disciplined prioritization.
  • Experience in building roadmaps, getting buy-in from all stakeholders, and tying it to Company profitability.
  • Experience in software solutions (Saas), travel industry, or technology are pluses.
  • Demonstrated success (top 10-20% by performance) in past positions. Work experience should show some dedication and focus as opposed to frequent changes.
  • Managerial focus is essential. You need to make sure the team is following up on established processes and that you can identify team progress accordingly. Be skilled at managing up with your reporting style.
  • Have a higher level business sense and be thinking about structural changes and initiatives that can improve the Business. Previous management experience in product is a plus.
  • Product Marketing experience is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated team building, leadership and the ability to manage multiple complex sales engagements concurrently.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and connect with people from countries and cultures different from your own.
  • MUST speak English fluently. Additional Languages are a HUGE plus!
