Position: Operations Manager Last Updated: 9/15/2022

Overview
The Operations Manager is responsible for developing a proactive approach to the overall operations within the organizations process. In this leadership role, the successful candidate will direct the operations to include:
Receiving, Warehousing, Sprouting, Drying, Milling, Packaging along with supporting departments (Purchasing,
Quality, Sanitation, Etc.) for our growing customer base. The Operations Manager creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the department to include: day to day production schedules, manpower utilization, efficient throughput of product, inventory management, general facility and equipment maintenance. In addition, this role is responsible for supporting quality assurance programs in condition to 3rd party audits and regulatory compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. To create a high-performance procurement team of production employees. Setting throughput expectations and deliverables meeting / exceeding customer expectations
2. The ability to create and efficiently manage via multiple departments: 1) Receiving / Warehouse 2) Sprouting 3)
Milling 4) Packaging
3. Exceptional Supply Chain experience: Ordering raw product, managing available inventory against open sales orders, scheduling package and outbound schedules
4. Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing: efficiency studies, product waste / scrap, labor utilization, gemba’s
5. Must possess the need to learn new products and processes within a challenging environment
6. Have strong passion to lead a workforce to deliver efficient departmental goals
7. Subject matter expert within Operations. How to plan, how to schedule, how to deliver, how to stretch, how to make good business decisions, how to be accountable
8. Continually scouting for improvement opportunities to reduce operating cost and deliver value to the customer
9. Supports new projects for the business, engaging suppliers to help the team understand any costs and design implication. Ability to engage cross-functional partners when necessary
10. Conducting cost analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement – price, freight, service, reliability, quality
11. Developing risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages or allocations
12. Promote a healthy-work culture to all employees and departments
Skills Required / Preferred
1. Proficiency in computer skills – Microsoft Office, Excel, ERP software
2. Strong time management and organizational skills within an office environment (not a remote role)
3. Superior negotiating, analytical and problem-solving skills
4. Ability to effectively communicate will all levels of management
5. Familiarity with Quality systems and GMP’s (good manufacturing practices)
6. The ability to lift up to 60lbs, stand, sit, walk, etc. within a high frequency
Experience and Education
1. College Degree preferred and / or equivalent operation management experience
2. General maintenance knowledge of facilities and equipment
3. The ability to manage a diverse workforce
