Responsibilities

• A Systems Administrator must have experience in conducting routine system administration tasks and logging data in system admin logs. Systems Administrators are responsible for maintaining system efficiency.
• Experience in maintaining troubleshooting a wide variety of systems and networks to include high volume/high availability systems.
• Must have knowledge on a number of debugging protocols and processes. Must be able to troubleshoot problems and issues identified by customers and implement corrective actions quickly.
• Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements using SolarWinds and other performance monitoring tools.
• Install and configure OS Services/software and hardware.
• Manage daily activities with virtual servers using vSphere (Snapshots, backups, restarts, vMotion).
• Troubleshoot issues and report on outages according to SOP.
• Ensure security through ensuring access controls are applied and performing Patch Management.
• Upgrade OS with new releases.
• Build an internal OneNote with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role
• Knowledge of databases, networks (LAN, WAN), Active Directory and Storage environments
• Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
• Excellent communication skills

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline is required. 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.

Clearance: 

• The ability to pass a Tier 2/Modest Background Investigation
