THE POSITION

REPORTING STRUCTURE

The Manager Financial Planning & Analysis reports to the Chief Financial Officer and works closely with other members of the Senior Leadership Team, including the Chief Executive Officer.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for managing the finance functions to include financial reporting/analysis, budgeting, cash management, compliance, business process improvement and performance management capabilities throughout the organization. This individual will work closely with TinkRwork’s CFO, other members of the Senior Leadership Team and members of the Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Curriculum, Client Service and Sales teams.

The Manager Financial Planning & Analysis will be a key member of the leadership team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company management and sponsor.
  • Ensure timely and accurate analysis and reporting of budgets, financial trends and forecasts Provide executive management with advice and analyses on the financial implications of business activities.
  • Business process improvement and performance management acumen. Will have the intellectual bandwidth to connect with other functions (e.g. Sales, Operations, Marketing, Engineering, Curriculum, Client Services, Warehouse, HR, etc.) and articulate KPIs and monitoring information.
  • Experience in technology deployment to organizations. Examples would be light ERP, inventory management.
  • A cross-functional project management skill set.
  • Provide leadership in the development and continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
  • Strong presentation skills to various audiences on financial results. Is able to articulate messages succinctly, explaining business results from a financial perspective.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience; at least two years will be a growing, fast-paced organization.
  • Prior/recent experience within a Financial Planning & Analysis group of a private equity portfolio company is preferred.
  • Experience as a Manager of a middle market company ( /- $50M-$150M).
  • Experience within the finance function in a manufacturing environment, ideally technology or education focused, is helpful.
  • Experience in interdepartmental projects and leadership; business expertise outside of the finance department is helpful.
  • Strong foundational skills in financial analysis, modeling/forecasting, and accounting.
  • Reputation for being a hands-on, involved and supportive finance leader – in both daily activities and in management.
  • Demonstrated progressively responsible financial leadership roles.
  • Experience in driving cost reductions and advising on strategic investments and initiatives.
  • Track record of being a collaborative member of a leadership team; integral in improving the growth and profitability of the business.

EDUCATION

A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred. An MBA and/or CPA is a plus.

PERSONAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES/QUALIFICATIONS

This role requires strong analytical and technical abilities and demands fast, but carefully thought-out results.

Strong leadership and control of the process from beginning to end is necessary. The job centers around developing new ideas, systems and technology, and also analyzing and improving on old ones. A high level of expertise is expected and the ability to spot and correct errors is important. Work must be completed accurately and quickly, while always focusing on accomplishing the goal and demanding the highest quality work from co-workers and subordinates. Interest and energy focuses primarily on the work at hand. The broad scope of the job demands a factual and direct style of communication. Decision-making, though swift, is calculated, with little reliance on consensus or collaborating opinions.

Pay: $76,903.00 - $125,000.00 per year
