Position Title: Contract Specialist

Position Type: Part-Time

Location: Lakewood, CO (Telework approved accordingly).

Work Hours: Monday-Friday

Position Summary:

TIVC is growing!! We are currently seeking a Contract Specialist to join our team of professionals.

Job Description:

The Contract Specialist is responsible for providing procurement services as well as a high level of customer support to their customers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Responsibilities:

  • Performs pre- and post-award functions on simplified and complex, multidisciplinary supply, service, and including information technology (IT), and agreements in support of WAPA’s mission responsibilities.
  • Supports operating unit-wide and/or agency-wide procurement programs.
  • Assists with the planning, and administration of simple and complex procurements inclusive of all types under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Serves as business consultant to program officials for procurement planning.
  • Assists with development of procurement objectives.
  • Coordinates actions within required regulations, policies, directives, and goals.
  • Conducts market research, assists with preparing and maintaining acquisition plans, appropriate milestone charts, and related schedules.
  • Complies with socio-economic programs and suggests to the Contracting Officer the contract type and acquisition methodology to be employed.
  • Advises and assists program officials in market research.
  • Prepares statements of work, performance work statements, statements of objectives, and other purchase requirement documents.
  • Conducts pre-proposal conferences.
  • Obtains appropriate data from business and technical officials.
  • Prepares determinations and findings and solicitation documents.
  • Drafts necessary amendments.
  • Performs analyses of all elements of cost in contractor proposals and performs the full scope of contracting activities from identification of a need through to contract close-out.
  • Assists with contract administration to include incremental funding, preparation of rate and cost adjustments, redirection of effort, coordination of time extensions, incorporation of change orders, issuance of stop work orders, drafts cure notices or show cause letters, processing claims, settling disputes, drafts termination for convenience or cause, monitoring of Government property reporting, and contract closeout.
  • Coordinates with all necessary program and support offices to carry out assigned responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

 Experience:

  • Requires at least ten (10) years of federal government contracting experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Highly proficient skills in Microsoft Office software suite. Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint are required.
  • Ability to receive and respond to instructions/assignments.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English and must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

Physical and Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Office Work 100%.
  • Sitting, bending, standing, and walking
  • Able to lift 20 lbs.

Other Requirements:

  • Self-starter who thinks of innovative, faster ways to accomplish tasks. 
  • Work with minimal supervision. 
  • Flexible and able to adapt to our dynamic environment. 
  • Hourly wage of $32.00-$37.00.
