Thundermist Health Center is Hiring a Dental Assistant (Part Time) Near South Kingstown, RI

General Responsibilities: Assists the dentist in every dental procedure and performs some expanded duties. Required Qualifications: 1 year experience as a dental assistant preferred Ability to handle confidential material Tactful in dealing with patients BLS Certification X-ray certification (or completion within 6 months of hire) Primary Contacts: External: Frequency: Dentists Daily Vendors As Needed Internal: Frequency: Patients Daily Dentists Daily Physical Effort/Environment: This position requires the use of fingers and hand manipulation using instruments and dental equipment. On feet most of the day. Work Schedule Demands: As determined with department hiring needs 24 hours a week. Must be available for overtime, including nights and weekends, when necessary. Communication Skills: This position requires the ability to verbally communicate with patients. Confidentiality of Information: This position allows full access to all dental and medical charts. Must always maintain all charts confidentiality. Significant Job Functions: Clinical: 1. Sterilization of dental instruments 2. Setting up for every dental procedure 3. Exposing and developing x-ray films 4. Taking alginate impressions 5. Pouring models 6. Ability to take clear x-ray films Administrative: Documentation of vitals, chief complaints Documentation of chart notes Documentation of treatment planning
