The challenges on Pro Job Management range from product questions about what tools we need to build for pros to get the job done, to technical explorations, such as the best way to build tools that work with different types of pros (small versus large pros, app-based pros versus web-based pros, etc). We are constantly looking for new ways to help pros better serve their customers and get jobs done with minimal extra work. Our work affects pros’ day-to-day lives and by extension their customers’. Our challenge is to be able to make positive experience improvements that are also impactful and effective.
The Pro Job Management team is working on building a bookings platform for pros to seamlessly manage their leads and bookings on Thumbtack, and get each to a hire and a job done. We own many of the tools that pros use to get the job done, such as price estimates and customer-pro payments. Likewise, we maintain the pro inbox and leads page that pros use to keep track of their jobs and communicate with customers. As an Android Engineer on the Pro Job Management team you will be building out new tools to help pros get jobs done, along with iterating on how pros manage customer contacts and interact with new ones. We’re looking for engineers excited to build a fantastic product as our team scales, and as we work towards elevating the pro experience to new heights.
If you don't think you meet all of the criteria below but still are interested in the job, please apply. Nobody checks every box, and we're looking for someone excited to join the team.
Thumbtack is a virtual-first company, meaning you can live and work from any one of our approved locations across the United States, Ontario or the Philippines. When it is safe to gather, we will begin to host in-person events on a regular basis. Remote employees will be expected to travel occasionally for these events to a Thumbtack library or offsite team-building location. In cities with 5 employees, we are establishing local communities, where employees can gather for local events. Additionally, employees in the San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Toronto and Manila areas will have opt-in access to communal workspace at one of our Thumbtack libraries. We always prioritize the health and safety of our employees. Currently, participation in these events and Thumbtack library use are optional. Both require employees to be fully vaccinated.
