The Center for Avian and Exotic Medicine in NYC has an entry-level position available for a full-time Kennel Assistant. We are seeking a motivated individual who is looking to get started in the amazing world of exotic pet care! We are a busy exotics-only practice with a popular boarding component for exotic pets whose pet-parents are out of town.This is a fantastic opportunity to care for a wide variety of exotic pets, such as parrots, reptiles, rabbits, and many more! Kennel Assistants are responsible for cleaning, feeding, and caring for our boarding patients. Shifts include evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Job description includes heavy cleaning duties, feeding animals, basic handling, patient monitoring, some computer work, and computer skills. Applicants should have excellent communication skills, and love not only birds/exotic animals, but people as well.Compensation: Negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at $18-$19/hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.While we are willing to train the right candidate, duties include:
