Threat Tec, LLC, a Veteran-Owned Small Business, has an immediate opening for a Modeling and Simulations (M&S) Analyst is responsible for describing, developing, and delivering the Operational Environment (OE) in models, simulations, tools, and interfaces with the six Army M&S-enabled communities and the Joint M&S community to assist in requirements definition and capability development of the OE. The Operational Environment (OE) is a composite of the conditions, circumstances, and influences that affect the employment of military forces and bear on the decisions of the unit commander. As an organic, complex system, the OE provides the common framework in which warfighting programs and strategies are conceived, defined, and executed. 

The TRADOC G-2’s mission is to understand, visualize, describe, deliver & assess the OE to reduce risk and prevent surprise; today and into the future 2035 . TRADOC G-2 is the designated Lead for Core Function #13 Operational Environment; the process of developing, verifying, validating, accrediting, and providing OE products and services represents an authoritative, validated OE contextual baseline for TRADOC users and operational forces in the areas of training and training development; education; leader development; concept and doctrine development; and capabilities development, integration, and evaluation.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will be responsible for working directly with the M&S Lead and government customer as well as outside agencies to articulate OE related requirements in simulations and other models, simulations, tools, and interfaces (MMT&I)
  • Candidate must have a thorough knowledge of military operations and OE associated considerations
  • Ability to conceptualize Opposing Forces (OPFOR) tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and behaviors for integration into current and future M&S capabilities
  • Provide insight to aid in the development of M&S specific prototypes, including but not limited to the Synthetic Training Environment (STE) elements – Training Simulation Service (TSS), Next Generation Constructive (NGC) and One World Terrain 
  • Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team of technical experts to utilize models and simulations to execute experimentation, LDT&E, wargaming and analysis events
  • Serves as the operational expert in the development of constructive models and simulations (STE NGC, WARSIM / JLCCTC, OneSAF, DXTRS) for the execution of experimentation, LDT&E, wargaming and analytic venues
  • Conducts Knowledge Acquisition/Knowledge Engineering (KA/KE) to describe behavioral, organizational, physical and equipment models in operational terms associated with Threat TTP and stability, multi-domain operations 
  • Interface with Army, DoD, Joint, industry and academic agencies regarding capability analysis, requirements, and the M&S needs of those agencies
  • Conduct capability analysis and capability briefings as directed by the government client
  • Participate in requirements definition working groups (WGs), Requirements Control Boards (RCBs), Requirements Integration Boards (RIBs), software development Sprint Reviews with government clients internal and external to the TRADOC G-2

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 8 years of military experience
  • Ability to work several projects concurrently
  • Proficient with both standalone and distributed simulation environments, experience in existing maneuver models (JLCCTC, OneSAF, DXTRS) required
  • Experience with intelligence models (IEWTPT, EWPMT, WIM)
  • Work cooperatively with other team members to complete assigned work.
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Proficient with MS Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Demonstrated excellent oral, written, and visual communication skills
