Thousand Hills State Park features Forest Lake, a 573-acre reservoir created by the damming of Big Creek and serves as a fresh water supply to the population of Kirksville, Missouri. This site provides a wide variety of recreational opportunities such as swimming, fishing, boating and water skiing. Thousand Hills Hospitality will offer a retail gift shop, full-service restaurant, cabin style lodging as well as boat and slip rentals. This position is seasonal with an anticipated end date in November.
Summary of Position: A Server will enjoy interacting with diverse personality types, while serving food and/or beverages in a timely, friendly and efficient manner to continue to deliver outstanding guest service.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately take orders from guests, submit to kitchen using Point-of-Sales (POS) software, deliver food and drinks, bus tables or assist busser/runner
- Knowledge of restaurant and bar menu promotions and specials
- In an honest and timely manner, prepare checks, process credit cards, accept and make accurate change for cash payments
- Ensure alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages are served in accordance with Federal, State, Local regulations and Company procedures
- Provide timely, courteous service to all guests throughout the meal service
- Set tables, polish glasses, prepare workstations and other side work as assigned
- Accurately prepare sales and tip reports at shift’s end, deposit cash and credit card receipts
- Complete other front of house duties such as host, and busser- food runner as needed to meet business requirements
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Obtain ServSafe Certification in accordance with Company F&B policy
- Excellent customer service and people skills
- Must be able to work a variety of day, night, weekend, holiday shifts
- Must have excellent communication skills and be able to count change and reconcile paperwork
- Majority of shift will be spent on feet in a fast-paced environment, in close proximity to other people
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Minimum (1) year in a restaurant establishment
National Park/Resort experience
