THOR Solutions, LLC is Hiring a System Administrator Near Panama City, FL
THOR Solutions is actively seeking a System Administrator to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) in Panama City, FL. Specifically, the individual will support the Amphibious Assault Direction System (AADS) program which provides over the horizon command and control and situational awareness capabilities of all Enhanced Position Location Reporting System (EPLRS) equipped units during the ship to shore movement of expeditionary forces.
The candidate’s responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) performing or supporting the following actions:
- Complete STIGs/patching on Windows 10 and Red Hat Enterprise Linus (RHEL) machines as directed by AADS Cyber lead.
- Work with AADS Test Lead to carry out and document software and system testing of AADS. AADS utilizes EPLRS radios, Windows 10 and RHEL 8 computers.
- Support production system/quality testing of AADS computers before sending out to the fleet.
- Assist with depot repair of AADS computers by identifying/troubleshooting faulty computers.
- Complete minor bug fixes for current software built in Java.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Must already possess an active full or interim SECRET security clearance, and maintain it for the duration of employment.
Required Education, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
- At least three (3) to five (5) years of recent, relevant professional experience.
- Experience obtained in a US Navy, Coast Guard, or other DoD environment is highly preferred.
- CompTIA Security certification required.
- Working knowledge and understanding of Windows 10.
- An ideal candidate will also have:
- Experience as a RHEL 7/8 system administrator
- Software testing
- PC repair Java programming experience
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
