THOR Solutions is actively seeking an Inventory Control Clerk to support the Naval Underseas Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWC Newport) Undersea Warfare Weapons, Vehicles, and Defense Systems Department (Code 85) in Middletown, RI.

The candidate’s responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) performing or supporting the following actions:

• Perform inventory management and configuration control of physical assets used within the facility
• Establish and maintain an inventory of assets such as hard drives, network switches, circuit boards, and other assets deemed accountable per the Facility Manager
• Support the tagging of new equipment, as well as the proper removal and disposition of equipment no longer required
• Conduct periodic physical inventories to ensure constant inventory accuracy
• Enter new inventory and inventory change data into the Base Inventory Tracking System (BITS); perform similar data entry and maintenance support for other internal and external databases
• Support the larger team by performing backup and surge support roles in other program, technical and administrative areas as required

Security Clearance Requirements:

• Must already possess an active SECRET security clearance, and maintain it for the duration of employment.

Required Education, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: 

• High school diploma/GED equivalent or a relevant vocational training certificate.
• At least three (3) years’ experience with logistics, material procurement, or inventory management. Experience gained in a U.S. Navy/DoD environment is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with applicable customer systems such as Navy ERP and BITS is highly desired.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
• High organizational and time management skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Typical Physical Activity:

• This position includes both desk work and light physical inventory/warehouse support.
• Essential functions typically include (but are not limited to): typing, hearing, lifting, reaching, talking, and vision.
