Job title: Events Coordinator

Supervisor: Communications Director

Employment Type: Part-time

FLSA Status: Non-exempt – Hourly

Hours: 20 hours a week, not to exceed 1,040 in a year (includes on-site event hours)

Hiring Range: $19.23/hr - $24.64/hr

The Role:

As the Events Coordinator, you would be an extension of our team, supporting the Communications Director in the planning and implementing of community events. As an ideal candidate, you are organized and motivated, ready to support the creation of unforgettable events. If you have a passion for our community and its people, we want to hear from you.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist Communications Director with management of all community events from initial planning to execution.
  • Oversee and manage all on-site event volunteers.
  • Serve as a liaison with vendors on event-related matters.
  • Assist in marketing campaigns for the events including social media management.
  • Manage sponsorship contracts and relationships; ensuring a positive experience.
  • Pull necessary permits for events.
  • Create and maintain event schedules for vendors, sponsors and volunteers.
  • Manage all event set-up, tear down, and follow-up processes.
  • Assess an event’s overall success and submit findings.
  • Perform other necessary duties as they are assigned.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • High School Degree or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in community or special events, or related fields preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed driver by employment start date.
  • Knowledge of event marketing best practices.
  • Strong people skills with vendor management skills preferred.
  • Well-organized with excellent multi-tasking abilities.
  • Graphic design skills are a plus!
  • Flexible schedule - ability to work nights, weekends and holidays, as necessary.
