What You'll Do:
As the Director, IT Business Partner - Logistics, you are responsible for the following:
•Leading an IT management team of IT Business Analysts and Software Application Developers teams in addition to Product Management of Vulcan's Logistics operations, which includes supply chain, order management, and order fulfillment.
•Understanding business needs and recommend solutions
•Working with Logistics business stakeholders (trucking, railroad, barge, ships) to identify goals and objectives, then analyze data and processes to determine areas for improvement
•Overseeing the development of project plans and ensures that deliverables are completed on time and within budget
•Articulating complex information to Logistics business stakeholders and IT technical teams
•Ensuring the business analysis team performs efficiently and consistently, achieving increased productivity
•Coordinating with extended IT teams to develop functional and technical capabilities on various technology platforms within the Commercial and Logistics space
•Setting goals and priorities for direct reports, as mentioned above
•Manage issues, risks, and opportunities, assisting team members in removing roadblocks and escalating to management issues that cannot be resolved.
•Manage the program schedule, documenting detailed tasks for each functional area, responsibilities for the task, begin and end dates, and percentages completed.
•Document critical path and track weekly to ensure schedule is maintained, and document actions to recover behind track programs.
•Working with internal Logistics business stakeholders to define and prioritize improvement initiatives
•Collaborating in building strategic roadmaps and aligning the Logistics business initiatives with IT initiatives to shape the IT Logistics transformation roadmap
Essential Functions:
•Serve as the overall IT Business Partner for Logistics to define, implement, and maintain customer experience solutions. This requires working with Sales, Customer Excellence Directors, Logistics - Truck, Rail, Barge, Ship and Ready Mix Concrete, Logistics Innovation, Accounts Receivable, Credit, IS, and other divisions to identify and implement business execution improvements.
•Lead and direct a team supporting the Vulcan Logistics and Ready Mix Concrete organizations.
•Meet regularly with internal customers and management team to positively influence them, ensuring business system needs are captured, clearly understood by the technical team, and evaluated for benefit & effort.
•Lead the prioritization of requested projects and enhancements based on benefit, effort, and resources.
•Ensure Business Analysis teams are capturing a "Voice of the Customer" role and ensure all projects positively impact the customer experience.
•Ensure the Software Application Development team is delivering solutions as per all in-scope requirements, on time and within budget
•Works collaboratively with leaders across adjacent teams.
•Identifies, determines, and executes strategic initiatives for business outcomes.
•Acts independently to resolve challenges and to address opportunities related to the data, tools, and processes.
•Work is both strategic and operational in nature.
•Lead team meetings with all functional areas to track progress, identify issues, and develop action plans.
•Holding team members accountable for their deliverables in accordance with requirements and verifying completion of each deliverable.
Qualifications
Skills You'll Need:
•Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or related field
•7 years of IT work experience as an overall IT Director level leader
•7 years of experience managing IT functional and technical resources, including resource managers, IT business engagement leads/managers
•Knowledge of transportation management systems and supply chain logistics
•Field Operations business process knowledge
•Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
•Ability to develop and maintain quality relationships with all levels of employees
•Knowledge and experience partnering with both Executive business stakeholders and IT professionals.
•Positive, collaborative, and solution-oriented attitude
•Ability to travel as required for systems implementations
•Documented experience building consensus with Executive Business Leadership, including presenting and negotiating large opportunities with compelling business cases and securing executive buy-in
•Knowledge of the technology and industry ecosystem, including the interplay between large investor-owned companies
