Thompson Thrift is Hiring a Director of Philanthropy Near Indianapolis, IN

The Director of Philanthropy oversees the development and execution of Thompson Thrift’s charitable support programs including TT Serve and Thompson Thrift Foundation initiatives. This person will coordinate and strengthen community service partnerships, charitable giving, volunteer opportunities, and the Thompson Thrift Foundation activities. This person will be responsible for creating a budget for all events and working within it to accomplish the mission of the organization. The Director of Philanthropy will create programs and vet partnerships as approved by ownership that promote the company culture, mission statement, and core values. The Director will be responsible for maintaining all records and electronic files for planning and event tracking.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Responsible for all aspects of corporate philanthropic programs, including planning, budgeting/funding, staffing, and fund distribution. 
Identifies non-profit partners that are consistent with the organization’s business interests and corporate philosophy. 
Ensures effective communication of TT Serve’s overarching message to public and TT workforce. 
Coordinates volunteer programs or distribution of funds to charitable organizations or other recipients. 
Ensures that activities promote a positive corporate image and are in compliance with organizational standards and any relevant external regulations. Provides reports and updates to senior management or other stakeholders. 
Manages operations and programs associated with developing, improving, and maintaining relationships between the organization and community partners. 
Creates and maintains lasting relationships with other organizations in the community to assist in developing events that serve the needs of the local population. 
Works closely with volunteer committees to plan and manage multiple company wide-service days each year. 
Exemplify fundraising best practices, leading to substantive ongoing philanthropic support for the organization. 
Develop strategies to grow individual giving at all levels. 
Develop key community giving presentations to senior-level internal and external stakeholders. 
Provide staff support to Thompson Thrift Foundation. 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of fundraising/event planning experience, including prior management experience.

Must have excellent leadership skills with the ability to drive strategic direction. 

Oral and written communication skills.

Ability to build collaborative relationships and foster teamwork.

High level of integrity for handling confidential information.

Interpersonal skills.

Program design and event coordination.

Organizational skills.

Project management.

Ability to develop and mentor others.

Knowledge of current and evolving trends in giving, fundraising, and donor cultivation.

Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.

Attentiveness. 

Ability to operate independently. 

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personal hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Performing this job will sometimes require the employee to walk work sites that do not have infrastructure, this includes walking on uneven surfaces, through mud, through ruts, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires the use of hands to finer, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear (bells, whistles, etc.), stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and the risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
