General Summary

The Manager, e-commerce Merchandising is responsible for cross-functional collaboration to manage and direct all aspects of the e-commerce business, including building strategies from inception to execution. This role manages the overall user experience, including site navigation, content development sales checkout funnel and promotional campaigns. This leader combines sales, marketing, technology, and management expertise to deliver a superior brand and customer experience through customer, product, and business analytics. They also build and directs a team of ecommerce professionals that can effectively help develop and execute e-commerce solutions that drive a high level of customer engagement, sales, and profitability.

This role is responsible for owning and innovating the customer experience, working closely with various business partners to deliver business results, and also partnering with product and technology teams to determine requirements to further enhance the features available to our customers. This leader is responsible for creating a site experience across all product categories that provides the right product information at the right time and makes the shopping experience easy for our customers, driving engagement, sales, and profitability.

  • *Leads the strategizing, innovating, and developing the customer experience for the company.
  • *Develops and leads team in executing product/supplier merchandising strategies related to site navigation layout and content.
  • *Provides relevant data to category merchants and collaborates to determine appropriate strategies and solutions to drive results.
  • *Serve as a digital expert for competitive landscape and fast competitors for merchandise and merchandising experiences
  • *Develops and executes world-class web measurement strategy.
  • *Monitors and presents data related to customer interactions and conversion.
  • *Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects for Site Merchandising.
  • *Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals.
  • *Drives foundational understanding of website performance and trends.
  • *Responsible for launching website promotions in partnership with merchandising and marketing partners.
  • *Product Content: Partner with merchants, photographers & copywriters to ensure accurate and detailed product content; ensure alignment to industry best practices for key aspects of content (images, bullets & short description).
  • *Product Hierarchy Strategy: Maintain best in class hierarchy structure for easy & intuitive findability.
  • *Leads the development and execution of long and short-term strategies.
  • *Provides overall direction for Site Merchandising.

  • Understanding of online trends, tactics and current events as they relate to e-commerce.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the relationship between merchandising, marketing and digital to create cohesive customer experience while driving sales.

  • Qualifications

    Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in e-commerce, online business operation, product management or marketing. Retail experience is a must.
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience.
  • Knowledge of ecommerce and financial retail metrics and analysis.
  • A product background in a discipline such as merchandising, development, or related function preferred.
