PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Compliance and Quality, the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager will lead the Quality Department in the execution of the manufacturing operation of ThermOmegaTech, Inc. The QA Manager will work closely with Engineering, Production, Sales, Electronics, and various stakeholders to implement and maintain systems to measure and improve product quality, reduce cost, and improve customer satisfaction. The QA Manager is also responsible for overseeing and auditing processes related to product inspection, testing, training, supplier qualification, new product introduction, warranty/repair requirements, as well as corrective and preventative actions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise, coach, and mentor Quality Assurance and Inspection personnel in mechanical and electronics divisions
• Ensure adherence to Quality Systems based on AS9100D certification Lead Quality personnel in the support of cross-functional project teams related to internal improvements, field failures, and new design engagements
• Interpret mechanical drawings and general knowledge of GD&T; develop inspection plans to support product development
• Coordinate all Customer/Vendor Returned Materials for evaluation and report findings to stakeholders by way of Nonconformance Reports, Corrective Actions, and Root Cause Analysis
• Work with Engineering and Production to maintain a system of document and revision control
• Work with Purchasing on supplier quality and qualification
• Participate in customer-facing activities, where appropriate, to ensure process and contract compliance, as well as assess and report program risk.
• Review all QA-related customer-facing documents prior to client acceptance (AS9102B, Traceability packages, EN 10204 3.1 MTR, etc).
• Oversee and participate in internal and external audits
• Oversee Calibration of all measurement tools and temperature controls according to company standards.
• Work with others in the Quality Department to plan, promote, and organize training activities related to product quality and the Quality Management System
• Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished products
• Knowledge of machining, metals, plastics, elastomers, fabrication, and product assembly (preferred)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Educational requirements

Bachelor’s degree required

Knowledge of J-STD and IPC requirements preferred

ASQ Certifications a preferred

Knowledge of GD&T preferred

Minimum experience

5 yrs. in manufacturing (machining or assembly)

5 yrs. in Quality management in a manufacturing environment

Physical requirements

The job may require extended periods of standing on a concrete floor.

The job may require lifting up to 30lbs.

Mental requirements

The job requires basic math skills.

The job requires knowledge of computers, business ERP Systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

Familiar with statistics, quality control documentation, SPC

Work environment

The role requires exposure to manufacturing areas within the facility. Manufacturing Facilities are generally noisy, dusty and occasionally have an odor from certain processes. Contact with petroleum-based lubricants and cleaners may not be avoidable.
