The Compliance Specialist will support the organization by handling a variety of administrative compliance functions. These compliance functions will include Trade Compliance, Cybersecurity, Quality (AS9100D) and corporate registrations currently maintained by ThermOmegaTech. The Compliance Specialist will also support process development and continuous improvement objectives in various departments, in conjunction with the Compliance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

The Compliance Specialist’s key job responsibilities include:

• Maintain databases for business-critical information, including, but not limited to: Data entry in ERP system, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Licenses and registrations, and Denied Party Screening

• Assist with classification of Harmonized Tarriff Schedule and ECCN

• Attend and maintain knowledge of changing regulations

• Creation of Free Trade Agreement Certificates

• Develop a library of compliance-related supplier data (REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals, etc)

• Complete customer representations and certification requests as required

• Assist in various process development and continuous improvement initiatives at the direction of the Compliance Manager

• Participate in contract review and flow down of requirements to pertinent stakeholders

• Participate in internal audit activities pertaining to the organization’s Quality, Compliance and Cybersecurity initiatives

• Liaise with other departments to identify training needs, process gaps and additional areas for Compliance support

• Assist in the contract review process performed by the Compliance Manager

• Support data integrity and retention requirements as required

Candidate Qualifications & Skills:

The successful Compliance Specialist at ThermOmegaTech should have the following skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Relations or equivalent work experience

• Entry-level knowledge of export compliance and contract review

• Knowledge of FARS, DFARS, and Buy American regulations preferred but not required

• Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to details

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Proficiency with MS Office and other business software

• Ability to mulit-task and re-prioritize tasks based on level of urgency

• Ability to work independently, and at times, with minimal supervision

• Strong team player and willing to assist in new challenges presented to the department and organization as a whole.
